Questions and Answers about this Strange Blog
1. Why don't your posts routinely quote the Bible?
Because this is a casual blog by a Christian, not a Christian blog. These are just my personal thoughts on life, not an instructional sermon. I staunchly agree that a Christian should read and study the Bible frequently (ideally daily). I do not claim to have enough theological training to teach interpretations of Scripture.
No human writing or speech should ever replace the authority of the Bible. Christian writings can be good as supplemental readings to provide insights from fellow Christians on their experience, but in the end, they should not be placed higher than Scripture. It is fine to only read the Bible and not Christian writings, but it is not fine to read a lot of Christian writings and not the Bible.
2. Do you hate dating?
No, I do not hate dating at all. I am just baffled by the convoluted mess that Christian dating has become. I wish all young Christians succeed in their quest for romantic love, because I believe marriage and family are God's instructional gift to us.
3. Who do you think you are to give love advice?
I am nobody, and I am not qualified to give any love advice. I do think, however, that it is useful, particularly to Christian guys, to have a traditional Christian girl's perspective on the female train-wreck of the romantic thought process. Understanding the "why" behind girl's common responses to affairs of the heart can help guys on the "how".
In the end, the best love advice always comes from the Holy Spirit. If a Christian sincerely prays for wisdom in their love life, God will send help, like for all other aspects in life. The fundamental factor to building a good relationship is to first build a good relationship with God. Sounds cheesy, sure, but I don't care because it is absolutely true.
